BOGS AND DSM-DON’T SHOOT ME!

Wandering around the massive SHOT show can be overwhelming but exciting as well. New hunting, tactical products and apparel are introduced to the buyers for all of the stores and representatives are busy people indeed trying to get the latest innovations into the hands of the public.

This year I brought my daughter Kelley along to get a fresh perspective and to see what would catch the eye of a younger but also seriously dedicated huntress. After getting over the initial shock and WOW factor at the giant convention, Kelley and I got down to the business of looking for great new products.

Here are a few of the products that caught our eye on day one!

BOGS, a solid presence in the boot industry have several new styles that attracted us.

For the ladies, BOGS Alex boot is a fun fashionable boot with a serious view towards functionality. The Alex comes in several fun designs and colors to take you from the field to town in style. The Alex boot is 100% waterproof and features a molded EVA sockliner with Aegis anti-microbial protection. A 5mm fleece lining keeps you warm while the comfort molded foot bed follows the natural contour of the foot for all day comfort and the natural rubber deep lug sole gives non slip traction. Comfort rated from temperate to sub-zero the four-way stretch inner bootie reduces friction and fits snugly without needing a long break in time.

The BOGS McKenzie MT boot is waterproof and breathable with MT-Moisture Transfer technology a rubber upper with a four way stretch inner bootie and cordura outer shell. A non-slip, non marking and self cleaning outsole keep your footing on solid ground while walking. 6mm air mesh plus fleece keeps you warm and dry in the worst of conditions.   The McKenzie is designed to keep you dry and warm in sub-zero temperatures while its neoprene inner wicks moisture keeps your feet cool and comfortable on warmer days. Your foot is cradled in a thermo molded EVA foot bed designed to maximize shock absorption while the seamless inner boot gives you a perfect fit all around.

The BOGS Classic High comes in several happy patterns and colors, is 100% waterproof and slips on with ease and doesn’t need break in time for it to fit comfortably. We put a pair on at the show after walking around in our other shoes all day and the BOGS Classic High felt like putting on our comfy snuggly slippers. We didn’t want to take them off!

After lunch we walked down the hall where we found a small booth with the words DSM-Don’t Shoot Me! Intrigued we took a look and met the inventor of a really well thought out simple concept for off duty law officers and concealed weapon carriers. A simple banner with the words POLICE, SHERIFF, ARMED or CCW is carried next to your gun in a small pouch alerts law enforcement to the presence of a friendly gun carrier in the event that The DSM Banner is a revolutionary, innovative, soon to be nationally recognized safety product designed to assist in identifying non-uniformed officers or licensed concealed weapon carriers  involved in a critical situation, giving the involved non-uniformed officer or licensed civilian 360 degrees of visible, reflective identification, preventing tragic events associated with friendly fire of blue on blue shootings. The DSM Safety Banner is currently the only officer safety product that is carried on your belt and utilizes one hand (support) deployment that gives 360 degree visual identification.
