The Game Commission in Pennsylvania may be split on what to do about approving next season’s hunting dates. Some say they have enough information to go ahead and make the hunting season’s mirror last year, while others want to wait until all the data is collected by March and then make their final decision at the April Commission meeting.

Preliminary reports seem to indicate that all hunts for deer, bear, turkey and other fur bearers fell within the guidelines officials had set up. Commission members have been receiving pressure from hunters to do more to bolster the deer herd. If public comment during the meetings is an indication of how hunters feel state wide, half think the management plan is working fine and half think changes are needed.
