December 13, I live in the N.E. part of Rutland City, while driving to work at approx. 5:30am on Hillside Rd. I saw what I know was a Mt. Lion run across the road right in front of me. There is no way it was any other kind of animal. The tail was very long and this cat was 6 to 7 feet long. No way in hell this was a deer or a dog, the shoulders had the swagger and the look of a cat if you know what I mean.
There are Mt. Lions in VT and roaming neighborhoods, believe it.

today at about 11 am me and my girlfriend saw a mountain lion within one mile of our home in pownal vt. we were driving by some pastures on a dirt road and he was just sitting there. when we backed up to look at him he turned his head and stared at us untill we drove away. i wrote to the vermont fish and wildlife to make sure of what i say and they tried to tell me this was probably a bobcat. there is no way it was a bobcat just by it's size mabey if u put 3 or 4 bobcats together.

I hunt up in Walden,Vermont (Northeast Kingdom) near coles Pond on Stannard Mountain and one of the residents there and a member of our camp has seen them. He is an experienced woodsman and hunter and is in the woods everyday as a logger. He has seen them several times in remote areas and a few times off Noyestar Road in Walden. His mother was with him once and seen one of the sightings. He has seen them off route15 near Hardwick Vt also. I beielive they exist but do to the law and or having to protect them the various states they are sighted in try to deny it so they will not have to spend any money to protect them.

we live in dorset vermont during the summer and this morning my husband walked out our front door and saw a young mountain lion standing about 15 feet away. it went about 100 feet in about 4 jumps and sat on the hilly edge of the woods next to our driveway and watched him for a minute before walking into the woods. last year we saw 3 baby mountain lions cross the road in front of us one night on our way home from a different part of dorset.
