Today the Pennsylvania Game Commission announced that it had finalized updates to the new ten-year Elk Management Plan. Also announced was the availability to apply for a permit online for one of the elk hunts scheduled for this November and again in September of 2007.
The revised plan essentially expands what is now considered lands encompassing the elk management area to allow for better elk habitat management and provide for increasing the herd. Other updates to the plan are mostly housekeeping necessities.
The elk hunts coming up are limited and will be selected through random drawing. For more information about the updated plan and applying for a permit for the elk hunts, visit our news section at Pennsylvania Hunting Today.
