Now a days anyone who travels out of state on a hunt needs to check the regulations as part of their pre trip planning.  If you are driving check the regulations in every state you plan to travel through.  I recall last year some hunters from NC returning from a hunting trip out west and having Tn authorities confiscate their deer or elk.  Last year on my Maine moose hunt we boned all the meat out before we left.  I think at that time most states we traveled through only required that for game taking from an area where CWD is present.  This year all that has changed.  A question I have about the new law is this;

“ hardened antlers;” I assume that means velvet antlers are illegal to bring in unless on a completed mounted head? I guess it will get to the point where you’ll have to have a taxidermist where you hunt mount the head for you. The impact on their business must be great.
