Tennessee Wildlife Authorities Kill Six Tame Deer

We’ve had some situations like that here in NC as well with the same results. It is illegal to go pick up deer fawns and raise them in captivity. If they truly were orphaned they should of contacted wildlife officials.

The importance of this law is now even more important now that CWD has crossed the Mississippi River. Here in NC they do allow deer farming but require extensive paperwork on where the stock has come from. Some deer farmers could not produce or refused to produce the origins of the deer they had on the farm and the state killed the deer.

I see no issue with this because I feel the state needs to protect the wildlife populations we have. I’d like to see additional elk brought into the state but I fully understand why they are not doing it until they have a better understanding of CWD and what really is considered a disease free herd.
