North Dakota U.S. Senator Byron L. Dorgan (D) told local representatives and senators in North Dakota that he will introduce legislation in Congress to provide for a public elk hunt in Theodore Roosevelt National Park. Dorgan also stated that this legislation may also include a provision for the same for the Rocky Mountain National Park, in Colorado, which is also experiencing too many elk in its herd.
