Wildlife officials in Montana are confirming that in the northwestern part of the state the wolf population has grown by 27% in the last two years. This 27% increase is in the total number of individual wolves bumping the total to around 160. More astonishing is the fact that the number of wolf packs has jumped 63%.
Officials say that individual wolves are moving around and meeting those from other packs and mating, raising packs of their own.
The Helena Independent Record has more on the story.
