J.R. Dunn, consulting editor for American Thinker, has an interesting and thoughtful article today about the efforts of the Roanoke Times and in particular, Christian Trejbal, to publish the list of concealed weapon permit holders. In his piece he uses the reference that Trejbal made in comparing gun owners with sex offenders,
“A state that eagerly puts sex offender data online complete with an interactive map could easily do the same with gun permits, but it does not.”
……to compare how the media addresses sex offenders and citizens who own weapons permits.
Consider this statement made by Dunn.
What it comes down to is that molesters, as criminals and sexual deviants, are a protected class. Gun owners, particularly those with concealed carry permits, are merely citizens, and thus fair game.
