Several time Super Bowl champion kicker Adam Vinatieri lost his status as a resident of South Dakota. Vinatieri, now with the reining Super Bowl champs, Indianapolis Colts, was declared to not meet the requirements necessary to retain residency in his home state of South Dakota. What does that mean?
It means Vinatieri will miss out on elk hunting and have a more difficult time getting licenses for deer seasons, said Emmett Keyser of the state Department of Game, Fish and Parks. He also will pay increased fees for future hunting and fishing licenses.
Being that Vinatieri is probably the highest paid place kicker in the National Football League, I don’t think the extra fees associated with hunting licenses in South Dakota will set him back too badly. I suppose some of the other Colts could take up a collection.
Okay, so let’s start with all the bad kicking jokes and puns. Let’s kick him while he’s down. I get a kick out of this story. What else?
