A New Jersey town seems to be being held hostage by a small pack of coyotes. In an area of Middletown, New Jersey, adjacent to the Earle Naval Weapons Station, a coyote or coyotes have attacked two children of late, a 22-month old and a 5-year old. Officials have been trying to capture and/or kill the coyotes.
This week at the New Monmouth Elementary School, children were kept inside because a coyote had been spotted on the school property. School Superintendent Karen L. Bilbao, didn’t want to take any chances.
Police shot and killed one coyote but officials can’t determine if that was the same coyote that attacked either of the two kids. They are not sure whether the two were even attacked by the same coyote as at least 4 coyotes have been spotted in that area.
Traps are set and guns are loaded until these coyotes are captured or killed.
