The so-called “canned hunting” bill in New York state, S0784, never made it to the Senate floor for a vote. According to reader Mark, who contacted me last evening, the current legislative session has ended and the bill did not see a vote. All attempts to amend the language to this bill were flatly rejected by Senator Padavan.

Mark says this isn’t over and that this is a high priority for the Humane Society of the United States. He believes it will be revived in the next session.

Thanks for the update, Mark!
