I heard a woman (obviously from the south) ask a waitress in Vancouver why she sounded so funny. Then another tourist asked this same waitress "Why do you Canadians want to be your own state?" I've been a tour guide a time or two in my life, and I learned quickly to just grit my teeth and smile when asked stupid questions. You can't believe people are dumb enough to actually asked those sorts of questions, but they really do. I think my favorite is the one about seeing Canada in a day. Too funny.
