The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, in conjunction with the Maine Warden Service and Operation Game Thief, will be holding a press conference today at 2 p.m. to discuss an ongoing investigation into the shooting death of a Canada lynx near U.S. Route 1A between VanBuren and Hamlin, Maine.
Many are questioning the timing of this incident in reference to a recent compromise reached between the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife and the Animal Protection Institute in a lawsuit file by API to stop trapping in Maine in order to protect the lynx.
