The use of ground blinds has become quite popular in recent years. There is a complete assortment of blinds from the best of stand blinds to portable, inexpensive and quick to put up and take down versions. Tom, Big K (my dad) decided to by a new Christmas tree this year (we use artificals). That means that he has a bunch of artificial tree stems that will be going to waste. I’m wondering your thoughts on using these artificial tree parts to create a ground blind. Have you ever heard of anyone doing such a thing? Any Thoughts?

Why not? Obviously you wouldn’t want to set it up in the middle of a dogwood patch but anywhere that there was a mix of evergreens (assuming you are talking about green and not silver trees) or full evergreens. Why wouldn’t it work?
To key with any blind is camouflage.
If you try it, take a picture. If it works, what a great idea.

Tom,
I had never used a ground blind for hunting deer until this year out in Nebraska. It worked great and kept me out of the weather. I found mine gently used on Ebay at a great savings.
