Is McCain Stupid? Or Does He Think We Are?

Now, Tom, stupid is as stupid does…(give Forrest Gump some credit, after all) The facts are that he needs all the allies he can get, same as any politician. Fact is also that there has been and still is global warming. (He was quick to qualify that: “climate change”.) Just how much of that is caused by man is another question. I give the man a LOT more credit than the other party. How many of them served in the military, much less as POW’s who let others be released before he would go free himself? Strange I feel like defending a man who I thought was less of a conservative than any of the others…but at least he claims to be a conservative…consider the options!

So by saying its cyclical climate change, does that mean we get to keep on polluting, using as much fuel and electricity as possible and generally continuing to behave as if the earth is our own personal dumping ground with endless reserves of everything we want?

Yeah. I didn’t think so. So whatever we CALL it, we need to make some changes. The “name argument” is simply a way to waste time and deflect change that most of us are too lazy to enact.

You’re talking about two separate issues. Global warming as being anthropogenic or man made is complete different subject matter than pollution and energy use. But those promoting that global warming as the result of carbon dioxide produced by man will not tell you the difference between what is factual and what is not.
When someone wants to dispute the Al Gore theory of global warming, you assume that I/we think polluting and doing nothing about the energy problem is what we espouse to. Not true!
As long as we live in a society that is run by the environmentalists, we will NEVER be able to solve any alternative energy problems. No nukes, no windmills, no solar panels, no drilling, no new power plants, no new refineries, no, no, no, no, no. All the while we spiral into submission to the oil producing countries, pay the higher gas prices and continue with business as usual blaming BIG OIL and George Bush!

In a preview of the speech, CNN reports that McCain will say: “We stand warned by serious and credible scientists across the world that time is short and the dangers are great. The most relevant question now is whether our own government is equal to the challenge.”

No, Sen. McCain, the most relevant question is whether political leaders will have the diligence to study this issue and the integrity and courage to stand up to the propaganda of the enviro-bullies. The question is whether you can be a maverick where it counts.

It is not Earth’s ecosystem that hangs in the balance, but America’s future. Those whose vision isn’t blurred by green-colored glasses and the temptation to win accolades from the leftist-dominated culture can see that the global push to “save the planet” is more about destroying capitalism, private property and Western culture than sound, science-based environmental stewardship. Never mind the staggering contradiction that free market economies produce cleaner environs.

While I do agree with you on some points, there is no nation in the world that has true free markets.
