What happens when you get caught poaching? Of course it depends but I don’t think you want to be in Idaho and get caught killing deer illegally. A man there was found guilty of killing at least three deer and dumping two of them. His punishment is $21,000 in fines, 10 years in prison with all but 45 days suspended but will remain on probation, he cannot be around anyone that is hunting, fishing and trapping, cannot possess any wild animal and loses his privilege to hunt, fish and trap for life.
