Thieves run off with polar bear rug
Monday, October 06, 2008

Beware the hot deal on a polar bear skin rug.

The deal might not be all that is hot.

A Pompey man is offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to the return of his hunting trophies - including a rare polar bear skin - or the arrest and conviction of the thieves, after a break-in and burglary

The thieves worked quickly at his house, breaking through a back window and hauling out the valuables, when the house was left unattended for only four hours.

They stole the veteran hunter's collection of treasures, including a polar bear rug, a musk ox rug, a zebra rug, two black bear rugs, a caribou rug, five coyote rugs, a 22-caliber Marlin rifle and scope, a PSE-brand compound bow and cash.

The thieves now need buyers, and that could be tricky.

If they try to sell it on the open market, I would think it would be pretty obvious where it came from, Polar bear skins are far and few, and they're almost irreplaceable.

In May, the U.S. Department of the Interior declared polar bears an endangered species, launching a ban on importation of new polar bear skins. That's made them extremely rare.

Rybinski, 44, said the pelts come from his hunting expeditions over the past 20 years.

He said the polar bear was taken in 2004 in Canada, with Inuit guides, and the meat was consumed by the local community.

He said the money he spent on the trip went to polar bear research.

Food for the locals and money for research. Research no doubt to benefit the polar bear species?

But really, what would mere mortals like us possibly know about such things. You know who you are. Gun loving, God fearing, family orientated individuals. Shame on you now.

Sarah is the only one out there with any go-nads whatsoever,
still. The only person out there with common sense and in-
tegrity while the moronic "animals have rights" groups hate
her and fear her.

It is incredible how much time and effort has gone into
"saving" our animals at the expense of others. Too bad so
much effort wasn't put into something meaningful instead of
a 'mile-high-pile-of-lies'. (thanks, greg)

Have any idea what drilling in the artic has done for the
residents of Alaska? Each resident received $3269.00. In-
cluded in that amount was $1200.00 for fuel assistance. For
ease of figuring, let's say there are 300,000 resisdents.
That's how much money is in the hands of the Alaskans right
now.

Nancy Pelosi is a communist and criminal for keeping US from drilling. The other criminals that were supposed to receive
Permanent Fund Dividends, have forfeited thiers to the state
to go to programs for the victims of those crimes. If, for
example, your bills are delinquent, the amount(s) will be
deducted from the PFD. If you may be thinking we got it made
in the shade, here, we don't. It's hard going sometimes but
the willing go to work and try making ends meet just like
every other dick and harry in these great states. Working
our asses off just to make it by and some dumb shit thinks
the world is melting.

I'll stick with my buddy Sarah.
