In case you were wondering, the Black Bear Blog got a bit of a face lift over the weekend. Steve and I decided that it was time for a new and improved (we hope) template for the BBB. We went ahead and upgraded to the new template and after I got looking around, I thought maybe it’s time for a new banner across the top and there you have it.

I would like to take this opportunity though to explain a few other changes taking place or that have already taken place here.

You will, as always, see constant changes with advertisers etc. As you can well imagine, these things are in constant change and keeping up with them sometimes is a challenge. Steve does a commendable job of providing all the updates.

You may have noticed some different looking links that appear through the text of the articles. Some people don’t like those and others pay little attention. Let me explain to you what those are and how they work.

When you hover your cursor over that link, an “Infolink” icon appears on the page. Move the cursor and it goes away. While this is new for us, might I explain to you that it takes some time before the software that is utilized in this effort actually creates relevant links. So if you see some odd kind of links appearing in the Infolinks bubble, don’t be too concerned.

The other explanation for doing this is revenue. The Black Bear Blog and all of our many blog network sites and magazines cost money to operate as well as to one day provide a modest means of income for Steve and I. In other words, we have to pay the bills just like everyone else and now that it appears Skinny Moose Media, LLC. will not be receiving any bailout money from TARP (Troubled Assets Rescue Program), we must move onward and upward to earn money the old fashioned way.

Having explained that, I’d like to point out a couple of things that might help us both out. You’ll notice across the top of the page, links to “sponsors”. These are companies that we work with that will provide us with a small commission if we drive visitors to their websites to shop and buy. You’ll also find occasional blogs that I might do about a particular product or company. This is all for the purpose of enticing readers to click a link and buy a product that will bring a few bucks back to the Black Bear Blog.

So, I hope you enjoy the new look of my site and if you have a mind to, don’t be shy about clicking on one of our sponsor links (of course after you have finished reading all the quality posts at BBB) and go on the biggest shopping spree imaginable. LOL
