Now that the pond is mostly covered with ice, I have a friend that comes walking up the pond to my place for a hand out every morning. This had been going on for about two weeks now when I realized something was wrong with her right wing. It protrudes much higher then the left one. I don’t know what is the trouble with this beautiful female Black Duck but hunting season has been on and I have heard some shooting near by. She could be a casualty of this activity. She sometimes limps on her right leg a little and one day she made a try to get into the air but could not fly. Now she is my friendly walking duck. Soon there will be no more open water and I wonder what will happen to her then. Anyone got an idea what I can do to help this Walking Duck make it? Milt
