After nearly 24 hours, it appears that I’m back in business. Here’s a brief as to what happened. The Black Bear Blog was the last holdout to be moved to the Skinny Moose Media dedicated server. The reasons were basically twofold. One, before we could make the move, we had to delete some files because the size of the entire Maine Hunting Today website was much too large. (I didn’t delete any Black Bear Blog files.)
Second, we were paid up with the now old hosts and under contract until the end of the year. Yesterday morning, my site went off line prompting a quick call to our hosting service. In short, they lied to us, deliberately crashed my site, attempted to con money out of us for something we had already paid for, among other assorted very poor service oriented things. (Don’t ever consider hosting with Bluehost.)
Once we threatened Bluehost, we got up running long enough to begin the arduous process of moving files, of course we had to get a whole bunch deleted first. Once the files were moved, we then had to wait for the new server to “recognize” the domain name.
For me, that has happened but depending on the Internet Service Provider you have, it may not have happened yet and that is why you have not been able to get to the Black Bear Blog. Sometimes with a movement of files, weird things happened. Earlier this morning, all links directed within the Black Bear Blog didn’t work. I think that has been taken care of. You may see an oddity or two but be patient, we’ll get to them eventually.
Onward and upward and with the new move, you should notice only a few changes – less down time and a faster load time. This will also help for some of the changes coming for us.
So, I apologize for whatever inconveniences I’ve caused and appreciate your patience. Hopefully, I am back to business as usual.
