We all laugh at and more importantly remember, the television commercials that portray some person crying out for a doctor. A man steps in and when asked if he is a doctor says, “I stayed at a Holiday Inn Express last night”. While this may bring a snicker out our noses, our upbringing begins to tell us this doesn’t make for a very good situation.

So what considerations should we deem necessary and appropriate when filling jobs, especially critical jobs? For instance. Would you hire a person whose job it is to manage an endangered species because they have watched every episode of Animal Planet? I think not.

Would you hire a person to be president of a bank because he is very good at playing Monopoly? Again, it is ridiculous to even consider.

Would you hire someone to head up the United States Military because they have achieved the highest level of all the battle video games available? Oh, please!

Would you hire a man to head up the Federal Treasury, who ultimately runs the Internal Revenue Service, who didn’t bother to pay his taxes and while not paying his taxes, the man was using Turbo Tax to file?

During questioning he just should have said he stayed at a Holiday Inn Express last night.
