Hard to get an ideal of the scale by the picture. Is that a battery in the top left corner?
Tom Remington
I don’t think there’s a battery there but you might be getting warmer.

Maybe a transmission out of a piece of heavey equipment.

The square on the top looks like a cup you could insert a length of box channel steel into (or aluminum.) I still cant get a feel on how big this object is. It’s obviously a piece of cast (Aluminum) is my bet?
Greg Farber
It’s a heavy piece of shit.

All three of the last comments are right……to some degree….., Greg’s being more of a subjective comment but maybe agreeable to the owner. However one of the three is closer than the rest.

When the guy from Alaska wakes up this morning, he can fill us in on the particulars of it, year, etc. and what beast it came out of. Here’s rebuilding it I believe.

I don’t know why I’m rebuilding a damn phord with a mazda trannie. This afternoon I’m going to see what 80 dollars an hour feels like on the shop
bench.
All I need do is replace the bearings and syncs
If a trannie expert (hee-hee) gets 80 dollars an hour, what should a building
contractor be making?

btw, 1990 ranger – 5 speed.
