According to the U.S. Sportsmen’s Alliance, American Idol and Carrie Underwood have teamed up to donate a percentage of the royalties from Underwood’s new release “Home Sweet Home”, to the Humane Society of the United States. Some people are led to believe that HSUS is an animal welfare organization but it’s not. It’s an extremist, left-wing radical group disguised as such by taking on the name “humane”.

Their main objective is to deceitfully get your money and then they use if for just about everything but animal welfare.

Other companies have gotten on board with HSUS in the past to steal some donations and then the pressure from hunting groups has put an end to it. This group’s fund raising tactics and political activities have been questioned as to their legalities.

First, once again USSA picks the wrong target. American Idol has nothing to do with this. It’s the song they end on, but they aren’t making the donation. If you check out the deal site, you’ll find that they list Carrie herself, 19 Recordings, and Sony Music Nashville as the donors for every digital copy of the song through iTunes.

Second, Carrie is a known animal rights activist and has been since she went on the show. In fact, right after she won American Idol, she was PETA’s sexiest vegetarian celebrity.

Going back to my first point, not to seem bitchy (ha!) about USSA, but they have a habit of doing this kind of thing. When HSUS signed up for the Amazon Affiliate program, they claimed Amazon was making donations to HSUS and sent out an alert. I actually called them up over that one since the alert was so intellectually dishonest – far beyond spin. They admitted that they knew how the program worked and that there were far more pro-gun groups, clubs, and ranges using it than HSUS, but they were still going to consider the money earned by affiliate referrals to be outright donations. I asked if they would then highlight all of the presumed good works of Amazon through this “donation” program by promoting the pro-gun and hunting causes and sites using Amazon. The answer was a resounding no.

I realize that they do monitor some issues that might otherwise get overlooked. But, I think that much like fake Amazon controversy, blaming American Idol and Fox Broadcasting for the donation decisions of Carrie and her record labels is off target.

If however, American Idol is helping to promote the sale of the record, whether they know portions of the proceeds go to HSUS or not, it can’t hurt to let American Idol know you disapprove of their promotion for that reason.

But I agree that dumping all the blame on American Idol seems off target. I also wonder how much Carrie Underwood is still beholding to American Idol. I’m not familiar with their contracts but I do believe for a prescribed amount of time each winner carries certain obligations to American Idol.

It would also seem prudent at this juncture to find out exactly what role HSUS has in receiving any proceeds from this record. I will see if I can find out if it is a direct donation or something HSUS laid claim to.

The Humane Society of the United States and CEO Wayne Pacelle are showing their true colors by demanding a vegan America. What one eats is a choice and should not be dictated to anyone. Not to mention the HSUS agenda of pro-extinction of domestic pets. Yes Wayne Pacelle has been quoted saying he does not have a problem with that. HSUS is sitting on $200,000,000 in cash and an average yearly donations totaling $100,000,000. Is this money going to help the homeless and abused pets we love so much? Ha! HSUS spends more on staff travel expenses than hands-on animal care! Get the facts!

Believe everything HSUS and Wayne Pacelle says so they can act out the HSUS agenda. But what these folks don’t know is the true Wayne Pacelle and HSUS agenda: Complete animals liberation and no animals ownership. Yes folks, that’s right! No dogs, no cats, no pets, period.

HSUS and Wayne Pacelle needs to be stopped! Only 4 cents of every HSUS donation dollar goes to ANY hand-on animal care. The only thing Wayne Pacelle cares about is Wayne Pacelle and his future political career (that’s right Wayne, the news is out, be careful who you trust), not about the animals we love so much. ALWAYS donate to your local shelter, NEVER to the Humane Society of the United States. There is nothing humane about HSUS. Look at the HSUS tax returns posted on their site. You will see where the money is REALLY going. And by the way, nice raise you gave yourself Wayne Pacelle! Almost a quarter million dollar salary and perks! Thanks Wayne!
