Russia to build 2 Kalashnikov factories in Venezuela by 2010 for Hugo Chavez

IZHEVSK (URALS), August 6 (RIA Novosti) – Russia will build two factories for production of the famous Kalashnikov assault rifle and ammunition in Venezuela by 2010, a Russian arms manufacturer said Monday.

The Urals-based Izhevsk Mechanical Plant (IMP) earlier fulfilled a contract to supply 100,000 AK-103 assault rifles to Venezuela, and signed a new contract licensing production of Kalashnikov rifles in the Latin American country.

“We will begin construction of two plants in Venezuela at the end of 2007,” Vladimir Gorodetsky, the IMP general director told a news conference dedicated to the 60th anniversary of the famous small arms brand.

“One plant will manufacture AK-103 assault rifles and another plant will produce 7.62-mm ammunition for the rifle,” the official said.

He said the contract, whose amount was not disclosed, specified construction of both plants at one site and the transfer of all related technologies and production licenses to Venezuela.

“It is an absolutely legitimate license on the production of small arms in Venezuela legally purchased by the country,” Gorodetsky said, adding that the contract also envisioned training of personnel and after sales maintenance.

The IMP official said Russia and Venezuela are discussing details for a new agreement on the supply of other types of small arms, including the Dragunov sniper rifle, to the South American state led by outspoken Socialist leader, Hugo Chavez.

“Out goal is to re-equip the Venezuelan army with modern types of small arms, grenade launchers, and sniper rifles,” he said.

Oil-rich Venezuela is a major purchaser of Russian weapons and hardware. In 2005-2006, Venezuela ordered weaponry from Russia worth $3.4 billion, including 24 Su-30MK2V Flanker fighters, Tor-M1 air defense missile systems, Mi-17B multi-role helicopters, Mi-35 Hind E attack helicopters and Mi-26 Halo heavy transport helicopters.

Russia has repeatedly stated that it would actively participate in the modernization of the Venezuelan armed forces until 2013.

This past week, we witnessed Barack Obama on his “I’m sorry for being an American” tour. During remarks in France and Turkey, Obama showed little knowledge of facts and history as he tried to make Europe “like” him by apologizing for America being America… for taking the lead when no other countries will.

It is absolutely pathetic that a president of the United States feels the need to disparage his predecessor on foreign soil and to make apologies for America. America leads, America succeeds, and America is willing to take a stand. For a president to apologize for this is something that is beyond crazy. Obama has already shown his disdain for the American dream with his policies at home. Now, he is bent on showing the world that America is no good either. Well, I’m from America, and I DON’T apologize!

Fortunately, most Americans do not agree with Obama’s perception of his own country. As Scott Rasmussen points out in his latest Rasmussen Reports poll, most American voters — 54% — say “it would be better for the world if Europe became more like the United States.” Only 22% had the opposite view.

There are two real problems I have with Obama’s comments. The first is that they are simply cheap political theater. A sitting president of the United States should not be taking shots at his predecessor, especially on foreign soil. Making yourself look good by making America look bad is not an action becoming a president of the United States. It is pathetic.

Second, Obama’s comments show that he has little understanding of history, Europe, or America. European leaders, and thus a portion of each country’s citizenry, don’t dislike us because we are dismissive or derisive. They dislike us because we are successful. While other nations bowed to the demands of dictators and aggressive nations, America stood up and said, “Not only will we fight for us, we will fight and die for you too.” America, in a little over 200 years, has built the largest economy in the world. Other nations turn to us for advice, protection, guidance, you name it.

America is not afraid to lead. Leadership and success lead to resentment, and to have Obama apologize for this is disgraceful. I am an American, and I am proud of this country. I am proud that we fought for Great Britain, France, and other countries of the world during WWII. I am proud that when no other countries moved a muscle, America took the lead in throwing Iraq out of Kuwait. I am proud that American innovation has put men on the moon and lead to a medical system that is the envy of the world. Where do those America-bashing world leaders go when they are sick? One guess. I’m from America, and I DON’T apologize.

Thanks for the comments. My feeling is that we should see what Obama does to fix the problems he inherited before we start hating him. Regarding Obama’s so-called apology, Fox News never played the full speech, because right after Obama said that we’ve made mistakes, he said that Europe has too and that they’ve been guilty of being antiAmerican and of various mistakes of their own, and that we all need to move forward and solve our problems together.

Of course we should not be afraid to lead the world, but leading carries an obligation to be successful and solve problems and win, and we haven’t for the last 8 years. We still haven’t destroyed Bin laden and his psycho followers, and Iraq has been a disaster. Come on – we wrote the Marshall Plan 60 years ago and saved the whole continent of Europe. How come we couldn’t deal with a pathetic loser country like Iraq? Bush and Cheney are not heroes. They talked tough, but they had a job to do and they failed almost completely.

And the bankers who own us aren’t European. Most of them are as American as apple pie and they’ve done a wonderful job of buying most of the politicians and media in this country – definitely including Fox News, as well as the other major networks, which are all owned by a few wealthy people who see the rest of us as cash cows. I’m not too thrilled about working hard for a whole year to make what some guy on Wall street makes in an hour or two, are you? But look at all the screaming that goes on in the media whenever anybody tries to tax those people who make those millions of dollars a year, or inherit tens or hundreds of millions of dollars a year from their great-grandfather. Hmmm – maybe there’s a connection?

We live in a world owned by wealthy, powerful people who could care less about us. It’s them we should be mad at, not the people like us who are struggling to make a living. That’s an old game for the wealthy – divide and conquer. You’re all pissed off at the so-called “liberal dems” like me, and me and my liberal friends are all pissed off at the people who like Rush and guns, and meanwhile all of us are earning less money every year, paying more for health care, can’t afford college for our kids, etc. because all our money is getting sucked up by those who are wealthy enough to buy politicians and favorable media coverage.

Judge by actual results, not what politicians say on TV.

Just saw your resume posting. I’m sorry to hear it, and I hope something comes along soon. I’ve been out of work myself since last October. This could explain why the two of us have time to waste on these internet postings.

I was a writer for Family Handyman magazine. I’ve been doing a bit of construction work since then, but unfortunately there’s not much of that around. Also I noticed I got kind of old and fat and out of shape while I was sitting at a desk for 5 years. I may have some freelance writing coming up, though. I also put together a web site with google ads that has earned a grand total of $12 from clicks in three months. But, we keep trying. In short I am sitting on $200 thousand in equipment, tools, I own out right, collecting dust for 9 months. I was hired to go work Wyoming oil fields in December starting in March, This administration pulled all the lease options for those fields killing those jobs, as well the offshore rigs are sitting shut down to. We have not had a president to get behind since Andrew Jackson..This president surrounded himself with Wall Street thugs and C.F.R members. You believe in him all you want, I know better.. He is a member of the Boule Society and a 32nd Degree Prince Hall Free Mason, he answers to the Freemasonic Shriner Cardinal of New York, who answers to the Superior General of the Society in Rome..Thats your president Eric…a puppet.. I guess I’m disappointing at us all. For moving so far away from the truths that has made our country so great. Just venting on the politicians gives me a laugh. I’m only just passing through anyway. In any case I do have concerns for the ones following after me. I have sat back and watched the results for some time now. We are not moving towards a better society. Quite the opposite, we are on a downward trend towards a one world Godless man made creation.

I just try to point out whom I consider to be the enablers of this final destination. Anything I can do to slow up the inevitable is my position.

So, we have a world of perverts. We have a world of people who live in moral permissiveness. We have a world of liars and cheaters and thieves and robbers and gossipers and disobedient and loveless and brutal, proud boasters because God let them go.

People say, “Oh God in the future is going to judge America.” God is judging America right now! Can’t you see it? Can’t you see a whole nation gone after perverted sinfulness and reaping the consequences of its own sin? God’s judgment is at work right now. And our culture if it reflects anything reflects the utter meaninglessness, the utter despair and the loneliness and the lostness and the fragmentation and the absence of identity that results when man is cut off from God.

One writer said, “What God…without God there are no abiding truths, there are no lasting principles, there are no norms and man is cast upon a sea of speculation and skepticism and attempted self-salvation.

Because when they knew God they glorified Him not as God neither were thankful but became empty in their thinking and their foolish heart was darkened. In other words, they had the knowledge of God and they refused the knowledge of God. They rejected it. It was all theirs. Still, they turned their back on it.

Rejection led to rationalization. “They then professed themselves to be wise and thus they became the biggest fools of all, for who is a greater fool than he who is a fool and thinks he’s not?” And so man has revelation, followed by rejection, followed by rationalization in which his empty imaginations tell him that he is really wise.

And the fourth step in the successive fall of man is religion without true Gospel teaching. “He then changes the glory of the incorruptible God, the true God into an idol, an idol made in the image of men and birds and beasts and snakes and bugs.” And he worships everything but the true God. Religion is not man at his highest, religion is man at his lowest. For this type of religion is idolatry and idolatry is man in the pits, for idolatry violates the first commandment, “Thou shalt have…what?…no other gods before Me.” And he second, “Thou shalt make no graven images.”

And so man starts at revelation, descends to rejection, descends to rationalization and descends finally to religion– man made Satan-inspired demonic religion that has absolutely no truth in it and no power to restrain sin.

At this juncture, God lets men go. Why? Because they have gone so far away away from Him. Because you will have none of Me, I give you up. You have forsaken Me and I forsake you. That’s the story of man. The human race is not on an ascent to God, the human race is on a descent from God. They’re running as fast as they can away from His presence and reality. And they have come to the pit of religion. And once you come to the pit of false religion, you have violated the first and foremost commandment and that is that you should love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, mind and strength. You have made other gods, you have blasphemed the truth of God and you are at the worst possible level of human existence. And at that point, God says I gave them up.

Did I hear President Obama right? Yesterday at the G 20 Summit of nations. Did he say we were not a nation of Christians? Or of Muslims or this or that. But a nation of citizens.

I could not believe my ears. When the leader of our country openly states that we do not as a people practice Christianity!
Then this public denial of God has doomed them all.
This guy is acting like a modern day Nebuchadnezzar. He openly denied (his professed) Christian faith to suck up to the world.

I am ashamed, and am praying to God to forgive us. I am also outraged! This man assumes too much.

Consider the words of Ben Franklin given at the Constitutional Convention in 1787 :

” In the beginning of the contest with Britain, when we were sensible of danger, we had Daily prayers for Divine protection. Our prayers, Sir, were heard, and they were graciously answered. All of us who were engaged in the struggle must have observed frequent instances of superintending Providence in our favor. And have we now forgotten this powerful friend? Or do we no longer need His assistance?

I have lived a long time, and the longer I live, the more convincing proofs I see of this truth: “that God governs in the affairs of man.” And if a sparrow cannot fall to the ground without His notice, it is probable that an empire can rise without his aid?

We have been assured, in the Sacred Writings that except the Lord build the house, they labor in vain that build it. I firmly believe this. I also believe that, without His concurring aid, we shall succeed in this political building no better than the builders of Babel; we shall be divided by our little, partial local interests; our projects will be confounded; and we ourselves shall become a reproach and a byword down to future ages. And what is worse, mankind may hear after, from this unfortunate instance, despair of establishing government by human wisdom and leave it to chance, war, or conquest.

I therefore beg leave to move that, Henceforth, prayers imploring the assistance of Heaven and its blessing on our deliberation be held in this assembly every morning before we proceed to business.”

This from a man who was unsure if his own devotion but had sense enough to at least consider, given the facts and from observation. Oh how far from the truth we have traveled!

Our country has has been blessed from the beginning, Look at the evidence in the past 50-60 years our fortunes have shifted. We are being denied the goodness we were always grateful for. Our new pragmatic approach has shoved God aside! Bankrupted our economy (God raises up or destroys nations beginning with their economies) Destroyed moral convictions. Left us with an increase in single family homes. A decrease in scholastic achievement, You all know the list. It gets longer with each passing year. None of the figures are in the positive. It’s not going to get better! Not until we turn back repent and believe.

We are a nation without a president..
