One thing I found interesting in Lisa Jackson’s response to Sen. Barrasso was her explanation about the U.S. Supreme Court ruling that the EPA can regulate green house gases utilizing the Clean Air Act. Jackson said the Court ruled that the people deserved that the EPA provide science to prove that carbon dioxide was harmful.

The entire premise of the debate on global warming is that it is not “proven”. Barrasso’s argument is that the EPA’s decision is wholly political and not scientific. He points to a 9-page memo that points out that global warming can’t be proven scientifically and discusses only the political ramifications of cap and trade.
