I’m back at my camp in Bethel now. Got in about 8 p.m. last night after a final and eventful day. More in a minute.
We spent two days on Acadia Island in Downeast Maine. Rained with fog nearly 24/7. One side of the island was worse than the other with persistent easterly winds. On the final day, Milt and I did go out with our friend, Gordon, in his lobster boat and were able to check a few traps. Fog was quite dense and so headed for shore. I have a few pictures I’ll share hopefully sometime this weekend.
We camped our last night in Bangor at the Paul Bunyon Campground. Once settled in (this was the first sunny day we had seen in what seemed weeks) our son and grand kids, who live in Bangor, came to visit. What a great time seeing Steven and the kids.
Yesterday morning we packed up and headed out only to get no more than half a mile from the campground and broke down……again. This time? We lost a fuel pump but hey, nothing $800.00 and about 4 hours wouldn’t take care of. Gotta do our part to “stimulate” Obama’s economy.
When we arrived back in Greenwood City, at Milt’s house, the battery in my van was dead and on it goes. I think it might be some kind of curse.
Either way, despite it all, we had a great time. It was an adventure and I have tons of pictures to share, along with tidbits of information. Right now, it’s catch up time.
