It is a great way to cut down a very heavily coated dog for out hellish 100F+ summers. As to whether or not that dog in the pic will deter a thief? Look at that head and jaw. That's a pit or chowdog cross. If it was coming at me, I'd run like a turpentine cat! Once we did a Pomeranian in this. He was a cute mini-lion too...of course like most poms, he thought he WAS a lion anyway.
