A Canadian astronaut says he thinks the earth’s polar ice caps are smaller than they were when he was in space twelve years ago.

“This is probably just a perception, but I just have the feeling that the glaciers are melting, the snow capping the mountains is less than it was 12 years ago when I saw it last time,” Thrisk said. “That saddens me a little bit.”

Here we are in midst of trying to have an intelligent debate on whether or not man-made global warming is real or not and proposed laws to deal with it could totally destroy what is left of our ragged economy, and our press give an astronaut who “feels” like the ice is melting press time.

Would they have mentioned anything if he had said he had the feeling the ice had gotten bigger?

I say, “Give me a friggin break!”
