Fascinating. How is it possible? Air bubbles rise in water.

I’m thinking maybe the “ring” that holds the air bubbles or just air that the dolphins blow out their hole, is surrounded by some kind of liquid? that is heavier than the air which makes it tend to sink.
When the dolphins stick their noses in the rings and “twirl”, it seems to hold together for them which might support that theory.
That’s my theory. It’s encased in some oily tubular ring.
