This morning I was reading Michelle Malkin’s syndicated column about how the FCC and liberal churches are teaming up to censor the media. It completely amazes me in many ways that our society has become such that when we collide with anyone or anything that disagrees with us, we want to silence that opposing voice; not with a better debate but by bullying. Laden with greed and eyes so blind they cannot see, these groups refuse to see what it is they are doing and the dangers they subject us all to – the dangers of censorship, including the freedom of speech and religion.

Oh, it’s easy to label an opposing opinion as hate speech. I disagree therefore I hate it. What happened to the days when opposing views were debated with facts and intelligent discourse? In the Bible, in 1 Corinthians 13:11 it says, “When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.”

We have a lot of growing up to do!

The framers of our Constitution had knowledge of what a tyrannical government was like. It is also my believe that when they put their pens to the parchment, along with the many hours of debate and discussion, there were two powers at work during those days – the powers of God and of Satan. I strongly believe the power of God won that battle and so our Constitution became an inspiration from God. And it was then that these same men come to know that in order for our Constitution to be the guiding manuscript that would lead us throughout life, to be free humans, to be able to appreciate and put into practice the recognized God-given rights spoken of in that great document – life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness – man had to cling to a culture of moral good, seeking truth, the truth that comes from God. For without the life that God’s truth gives us, we will wither and die.

While we spend so much time arguing over who says what and playing god, demanding our way, full of self, prideful, boasting, forcing our sinful nature onto others while masquerading as Christians and churches of God, we have lost sight of Truth. There is no truth in practicing what is contrary to God’s word. God gave us a brain, not so we could be the slave master over others but so we could seek His truth.

One of the organizations working to censor those with opposing thoughts, is The National Interfaith Coalition for Media Justice. This organization’s banner reads, “So We Might See”.

Perhaps it is time that our Federal Communications Commission, The National Interfaith Coalition for Media Justice, the Press, the United States Congress, the White House and every American should stop the nonsense and follow the words to an old hymn I was reminded of when I saw, “So We Might See”.

Open my eyes that I may see
Glimpses of truth Thou hast for me
Place in my hands the wonderful key
That shall unclasp and set me free

Silently now I wait for Thee
Ready, my God, Thy will to see
Open my eyes, illumine me
Spirit divine

Open my ears that I may hear
Voices of truth Thou sendest clear
And while the wave-notes fall on my ear
Everything false will disappear

Open my mouth and let me bear
Gladly the warm truth everywhere
Open my heart and let me prepare
Love with Thy children thus to share
