I know I’m nitpicking here but I couldn’t help myself when I came (sorry, no pun intended) across an article posted today at the Huffington Post on the failures of the “green” movement to get much accomplished about global warming.
Here’s the slightly “arousing” error the author made.
Climate change skeptics have had a field day in recent weeks, first with the so-called ‘Climategate’, a set of leaked emails from the Climactic Research Unit at the UK’s University of East Anglia apparently showing environmental data had been falsified, and then Al Gore’s unlikely claim that the North Pole could be entirely ice-free within five years. (emboldening is mine)
Assuming the author is referring to the place where the emails got hacked, that would be the Climate Research Unit located at the University of East Anglia in the U.K. A climactic research unit might produce data that isn’t particularly helpful to issues on global warming. However, one could, I suppose, argue that the excessive heavy breathing contributes significantly to the emission of carbon dioxide, therefore adding to the man-made heating of the globe.
Perhaps it’s just a “Freudian” slip or the author had some kind of traumatic experience as a child.
I think I better quit while I’m ahead here.
