"Top Kill" Appears To Be Working

Remember when they landed on the moon? This “acheivement” should turn into something similar, about now.

And the spot on the moon they landed on; is that visible from here?

And the spot of oil leaking, is that visible from the moon?

I’m gonna keep listening, and closer, to the mister; stupid as i’m gettin. and i have to let him know, thanks so much, sir, yessir, mister, glad i’m hearin ya loud and clear.

I cannot believe that it has taken over a month, and at this point, the oil is still pouring into the Gulf. The liberals criticized Bush for inaction during Katrina, even though he was unable to help until the governor asked. This spill will wreak more havoc on people who actually work for a living, and contribute to the economy, than the damage done by Katrina.
It is also hard to believe that they have taken until now, to try the “top kill”. Until now, it seems they were either unconcerned, or still wanted to try and tap the oil more than stop it…..
Wait until the oil rounds Florida in the Gulf stream, and starts dumping on the eastern coastline, all the way to Nantucket…..maybe that will make the rich and famous take notice, if that’s what it takes to get something done!

If Obama is finally taking blame upon himself, as was on the news this morning, why hasn’t something been done before now? And why hasn’t the liberal press blamed him?

It will take many years to recover from this contamination, and the fish and shellfish, and wildlife that depend on each other, may take a greater hit than the wolves decimation of the elk in the western states….

My smarter half is a geologist who has worked on these rigs. This mess is far from over, and it would take pages to explain why.

Our government is not equipped to deal with this – we have no drill rigs, our Navy has no “magic plug” to stop this. The oil companies have not advanced their technology to deal with this. Our government has permitted a lot of corporate activities over the past decades that have not been good to our environment but deemed essential for either “national security” or our economy. (Such as the Superfund site 15 miles east of where we live – the mess is from WWII.)

Fingers need to be pointed at the corporate greed and lobbying that set up this disaster (and other waiting to happen) – which is also called by some the “Free Market”.
