In portions of Maine, the deer are far and few between but on that rare occasion a hunter can see some success. This photo was sent to me by a reader in Maine who followed this deer and truck to the tagging station. It weighed in at 208 lbs., leaving hunters to wonder what it might have weighed before the rutting season.

The deer was taken in Embden, Maine, near Bingham, and not far from the place where Horace Hinckley took his record breaking 355-pounder a half-century ago.
