This is a great example of a news(?) organization with tons of resources and yet it exemplifies lazy journalism. Not one bit of effort was put into obtaining facts in this story – only to repeat the same old rhetoric, much of it being scientifically refuted. This is the same thing that takes place in the print media. One person, often bought and paid for by environmentalists, which is much the case in this report, repeats his or her unscientific drivel and the same biased media laps it up and simply repeats it without seeking a different opinion, say nothing about seeking actual facts.

Until this kind of blathering is met with facts and exposed for the lousy, biased faux journalism it is, actual science will continued to be shoved into a back, dark corner someplace. Unbeknownst to the majority of Americans, they end up being the big losers in all of this.

Just more propaganda that is spit out by the welfare media. I use to be an annual donations to PBS, I quit doing that a few years ago. I also fully support the ending of government payments to continue to fund this one sided propaganda machine. If they can not make it on their own, they simply are not needed.

It really makes no sense at all as to why the government should be subsidizing this in any way other than to control the output. When one considers that, there is no reason to consider them a valid source of information.

I always find it interesting the labeling of people who actually pay the going rate for something being labeled ‘welfare’, yet they have no problem with the real welfare recipients.

That was far and away one of the most unbiased piece about the NRM wolves that I have seen. They told the ranchers side, spoke with ranchers working to non-lethally solve the problem, and they showed the benefits of having wolves for eco-tourism, and the environment. I guess the antis are upset because they did not portray wolves as bloodthirsty killers stalking children, spreading parasites, and eating their cattle and children like they were on a buffet line. Yep-forgot why I don’t have TV…This is a one-sided, halfhearted B.S.
attempt at APPEARING to present a fair, unbiased “NEWS”
segment…WoW…breeze over the Ranger’s words that hunting is
okay…make Martin Davis look stupid & pick out the most Californite
lookin’ ranchers to be the “good guys” with their electric
fence…(sorry Andrew and Hilary!! nothin’ personal-you are actually
doing a great job…) This is really bad…

Yes, JbarL is owned by wealthy out of state residents (the Rockefeller family) who have the financial means to do their “wolf experiments” as well as employ a lot of people. The couple in the clip WORK for the ranch & do not own it. The pasture depicted in the film is open treeless, grassland, not usual mountain timbered pasture areas where wolves normally prey on livestock. The “main” ranch is in a populated valley, where there are no wolves…yet. These cattle are only there a few months out of the year.
While it’s commendable that they’re trying such “deterrant” methods, the wolves ALWAYS figure those things out after awhile. Plus, it’s too expensive & time consuming for the “average” rancher without the means & resources of JbarL to fence timbered areas where a single moose, elk or deer passing through can short out the fence in minutes.

It appears as though I should have taken time to better research the jbarl ranch and owners. The piece was getting very long and so I moved on. This information is equally or perhaps more so, disturbing. Thank you.

We live in the same area & I believe one of the owners is Peggy Dulaney (David Rockefeller’s daughter). They are very nice people but as I said, have a lot more resources (& employees) than the average local rancher here.
