The following is a presser from the Montana Shooting Sports Association

Missoula, Mont. – The Montana Shooting Sports Association announced today that it endorses Congressman Ron Paul for the Republican nomination for President. Citing continuing high poll numbers in spite of a media blackout, MSSA says that Ron Paul is the only candidate who offers a chance to save our Nation as a country of free people.

MSSA President Gary Marbut commented, “Paul receives more contributions from people in the military than all other candidates combined, probably because of his views on foreign policy. He is the only candidate with serious plans to significantly cut the profligate federal spending that is bankrupting our country. Most other candidates only make noises about scaling back planned increases in federal spending. Ron Paul sees the Constitution as a guiding principle, not as an irrelevant relic or a pesky barrier to be circumvented. Finally, Ron Paul has been a consistent and actual supporter of the right to bear arms throughout his entire political career, with no waffling, no compromise and no apology.”

MSSA is the primary political advocate for gun owners in Montana. MSSA has gotten 58 pro-gun and pro-hunting bills through the Montana legislature in the past 25 years, litigates pro-gun issues, and provides expertise to Montana about firearm safety, firearm education, shooting ranges, and other topics.

The media has not done a good job of informing the public that Congressman Paul came within a few votes of winning the Iowa Republican caucus straw poll, far ahead of the third-place finisher, and actually won the California Republican caucus straw poll. Many other high points of the Paul campaign have been ignored by the media, often deliberately. For example, a recent straw poll among registered voters in Oklahoma yielded these results: Ron Paul – 46%; Herman Cain – 25%; Newt Gingrich – 17%; Mitt Romney – 6%; and Rick Perry – 3% (others less).

“Many people in America realize that Dr. Paul offers actual hope for America,” Marbut continued, “and not just a warmed over version of the status quo approved by the Washington political establishment. That may be what moves the national media to see Dr. Paul as a threat, resulting in a virtual news blackout about his successful campaign.”

“American voters are realizing,” Marbut concluded, “that the first question in the Republican primary is not which candidate can beat Obama, but which candidate is capable of essential departure from the status quo necessary to save the Nation. They have figured out that Dr. Paul is the only candidate who can do both.”

Ron Paul has an A+ rating with Gun Owners of America. About Ron Paul, GOA says, “Guts. That is the one word which describes Rep. Ron Paul of Texas best. Perhaps the most consistent vote in the Congress, he can be expected to oppose any unconstitutional expansion of government, no matter how politically difficult that vote might be. Paul has been a powerful advocate for the Second Amendment and has sponsored legislation to repeal most gun laws dating back to 1968 — as well as, legislation to get the U.S. out of the anti-gun United Nations.”

For more information on the efforts by CBS News to expose the corruption and intentions of the BATFE and DOJ in “Fast and Furious”, visit this link.

The entire “gun walking” sting called Fast and Furious has been all wrong. I would suppose it’s what happens when any governmental attempt is rooted in corruption and ill intent. CBS News appears to be about the only media agency willing to swing a bat at Eric Holder and the Department of Justice, including AG Eric Holder for everything gone wrong and the lies that have, from the beginning, been perpetuated.

Holder lies and has blood on his hands. Government is corrupt. Cover ups persist. Congressional hearings are dog and pony shows pretending to get to the bottom of things, yet criminals are allowed to walk. Could you or I still be living at home had we done what Holder is responsible for?

So where is the outrage? Where is the media coverage on what’s really behind Fast and Furious? And where are We the People? We can expect no truth and justice when we as a society are unwilling to practice it. What will it take to right a country heading in the wrong direction?

I hope this video helps explain about Fast and Furious, what’s behind it and why crimes are dealt with differently in Congress than elsewhere.

President Barack Obama and his administration are so far out of touch with the American people but then again was he ever concerned about the people or just about promoting his Marxist agenda? Soon after – well actually before – his election to the White House, America answered the call and in an unprecedented fashion “occupied” the gun stores and commenced buying up guns and ammunition to such an extent that there were shortages nationwide. It was a true stimulation of the economy but for pitiful reasons. America sent the message that, one; they knew Obama hated guns and would work in any fashion he could to limit them, and two; they felt the need to arm themselves further and stockpile ammunition…….just in case.

Obama understood from the beginning that attempts to impose direct legislation to limit or restrict guns would face opposition mostly from the people but also from a Congress that mostly recognizes you can never win an election by supporting gun control. Often, this is the ONLY reason politicians will vote for gun rights or against gun control.

Knowing what he would be facing, Obama has done as much as he can to infiltrate and win the public relations battle on gun rights. Fear mongering has always been the poster child for the gun control lobby and Obama has worked behind the scenes to accomplish that. While never missing an opportunity to exploit any violent act with a gun, Obama has also used corrupt and illegal efforts, such as Operation Fast and Furious, to frame gun sellers and instill fear in Americans.

As has been Obama’s modus operandi since taking office, he cares little for what the American people want and only seems intent on promoting his own agenda. As a result, he has proposed new legislation that would ban shooting on public lands. Mind you, at the same time that President Obama is working feverishly to control guns, the House of Representatives, in a vote of 271 – 154, passed the National Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act (HR 822), a bill that allows holders of concealed carry permits in one state to cross state lines into another state. The passage of this bill was bi-partisan and coming at the beginning of an election cycle.

According to USNews.com, the reasons given for seeking the ban on shooting on public lands is “social conflict”.

“When the authorized officer determines that a site or area on BLM-managed lands used on a regular basis for recreational shooting is creating public disturbance, or is creating risk to other persons on public lands; is contributing to the defacement, removal or destruction of natural features, native plants, cultural resources, historic structures or government and/or private property; is facilitating or creating a condition of littering, refuse accumulation and abandoned personal property is violating existing use restrictions, closure and restriction orders, or supplementary rules notices, and reasonable attempts to reduce or eliminate the violations by the BLM have been unsuccessful, the authorized officer will close the affected area to recreational shooting.”

It was related to me from a reader who sent me the link to this article that the reason Obama and his ilk are trumpeting the “social conflict” issue is because they have no other facts, data, and legitimate reasons to limit such activity other than to control guns.

When you consider the above reasons, which are supposedly rules implemented by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM), then certainly all activity on public lands must be banned immediately. The Congressional Sportsmen’s Foundation, which opposes Obama’s plan, says that this attempt to lock out shooters is that they are “being held to a much higher safety standard than other users of public lands”. Which would appear to be true in that Obama officials present no other reasons to ban shooting.

Every item listed in the BLM rules above is determined by someone’s matter of perception. Most, if not all, of these rules can apply to any activity in the public forests and lands. Singling out shooters is nothing more than an ill-conceived attempt at gun control – something the public has spoken of clearly that they want little to do with.

Reports have been out all day about supposed bullets hit the bullet proof glass of the White House. Preliminary, officials are pointing a finger at some dude named Oscar Ramiro Ortega. Some media are reporting that officials are searching “Occupy” areas.

So, here’s my question to independent thinking people who read this blog. What legitimate reasons do any of us have to believe this actually took place?

MISSOULA, Mont.–A new partnership between the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation and Youth Shooting Sports Alliance is strengthening a national effort to encourage more youth participation in shooting sports, hunting and conservation.

The SAFE Challenge initiative was launched by RMEF in 2011 with a goal of introducing 50,000 young and novice shooters to safe, responsible, enjoyable firearm use and traditions. SAFE is an acronym for Shooting Access For Everyone. RMEF chapters nationwide are now hosting local events to help carry out that goal.

The Youth Shooting Sports Alliance has agreed to support SAFE Challenge events by providing loaner .22 rifles and BB guns as available.

RMEF Chief Operating Officer Rod Triepke said, “We’re grateful to the Youth Shooting Sports Alliance and its president, Cyndi Flannigan, for making sure our volunteers have the equipment they need to make SAFE Challenge successful.”

Flannigan said, “Our mission is supporting key programs that generate measurable improvements in youth participation in shooting sports, and RMEF’s SAFE Challenge certainly looks to be well on its way. Congratulations to RMEF for its work to ensure that America’s shooting traditions remain as a lasting heritage.”

For more about the Youth Shooting Sports Alliance, visit www.youthshootingsa.com.

SAFE Challenge launched with a generous endowment from Larry and Brenda Potterfield.

*Editor’s Note* Below is a copy of a letter sent by Gary Marbut, president of the Montana Shooting Sports Association, to members of the Montana congressional delegation – Senators Baucus and Tester, and Representative Rehberg – asking that they join the effort in seeking Attorney General Eric Holder’s resignation due to the information so far discovered about the botched gun tracking program commonly called “Fast and Furious”.

Dear Senator/Representative;

I am sure you are aware of the blistering letter sent on October 10, 2011 by House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Chairman Darrell Issa to Attorney General Eric Holder, documenting in great detail the Department of Justice’s shameful scandal, the “Fast and Furious” gun running case.

(Letter here)
http://michellemalkin.com/2011/10/10/issa-to-holder-you-own-fast-and-furious/

Attorney General Holder’s misconduct or incompetence is clearly laid out in that letter, and several members of Congress have already called for Attorney General Holder to resign.

As Montana’s leading advocates for safe and legal gun ownership and use, the Montana Shooting Sports Association finds Attorney General Holder’s conduct to be proof of his unfitness for continued service in that office.

In addition, we believe that the “Fast and Furious” program had an intended goal of creating excuses to implement additional gun control schemes to infringe on our Second Amendment rights.

Therefore MSSA asks that you immediately and publicly call for Attorney General Holder to resign, and that you support further investigation to pursue appropriate criminal charges if warranted.

I look forward to reporting to our members and supporters that you have called for Holder’s resignation.

Thank you for your continued support of Montana’s law-abiding gun owners.

Sincerely,

Gary Marbut, president
People commit murder and/or are directly responsible for murder and the focus becomes whether or not testimony was accurate? Here’s the issue.

Fast and Furious is a United States Government sting operation gone terribly bad or terribly right depending on whose side you’re on. From my side it went terribly wrong. Federal agents bought and sold guns, using licensed firearms dealers in the United States and shipped them across the border into Mexico. Some of those guns have been tracked down to be involved in at least 200 murders of human beings.

The lie we have been told is that Fast and Furious was a gun sting set up to find registered gun sellers who were illegally selling guns. Isn’t this an odd way to prove that theory?

It has taken an exceedingly long time to begin getting any evidence and documentation on Fast and Furious, a typical stonewalling you’d find from any administration while they set up fall guys and destroy evidence that would incriminate any but their hand-picked fall guy. Now that some of this evidence that we are allowed to see has come in, the morons aren’t smart enough to cover their own tracks.

Not to get sidetracked from the story but now evidence surfaces through the media, in this case Fox News, that Attorney General Eric Holder knew about Fast and Furious months before he claimed he “might have heard” something about.

So now begins the charade. Republicans want a special council to investigate whether Holder lied. For crying out loud! The man is responsible for the deaths of hundreds of people and some in Congress want to know if Holder lied in his testimony? On May 3, 2011, in testimony, Holder was asked when he knew or heard about Fast and Furious. He answered he might have heard something about it “over the last few weeks”. Evidence shows he knew about it at least as early as July of 2010. He now is saying he misunderstood the question.

Let’s not kid ourselves here. The idea behind Holder’s Fast and Furious, which you know had the blessings if not all the plans from the White House, was to try to falsely present a scenario in which Obama’s demands for further gun restrictions could be implemented. It went badly. The CIA underestimated the independent criminal minds of the Mexican Drug Cartel and Holder and his minions in Washington got hosed. Well deserved I’d say.

But all of his buddies in Washington are now scrambling around to whitewash things. That might sound odd to some people but when you consider what has actually taken place. The evidence exists that proves that federal agents, under the direction of the Attorney General, used taxpayer money to buy guns and take them across the border into Mexico. Those guns were used to kill people. And the Republicans in Congress want to investigate whether Holder lied in his testimony?

So, I suppose we should expect that Holder will be censured and told not to do that again and our media will all chip in and help in this matter. Welcome to hope and change!

These people are not our friends!

Times today is reporting that guns taken into Mexico by federal agents and sold(?) to Mexican drug lords, have shown up in El Paso, Texas as early as January 2010.

The lies that have been told and what we the people have been permitted to know is very limited as the Department of Justice works to protect as many higher-ups as possible. How high? You and I will never know which leads us to mostly just speculate. So, let me speculate.

We were told that Operation Fast and Furious was a sting operation, based out of Phoenix, Arizona, to catch the illegal sale of guns by license U.S. gun dealers to the Mexican drug cartel. Supposedly, and in addition to, gun sellers in the region where authorized by the Feds to sell guns to “straw buyers” – those who buy the guns only to pass them on to criminals who couldn’t pass a background check.

But this isn’t what happened at all. As long as it has taken to get any information out of the Department of Justice (DOJ), we have been allowed to find out that some 2,000 weapons and other accessories, like bullet-proof vests, ammo and magazines, were purchased using taxpayer dollars and transported by federal agents into Mexico to be knowingly sold to thugs and criminals. Knowing this information should alert us to the fact that this Fast and Furious operation wasn’t about tracking guns to catch a handful of sellers and buyers breaking our laws.

The L.A. Times article says that the Fast and Furious guns that showed up in El Paso in January of 2010, shortly after the sting began. As was asked by Ed Morrissey of Hot Air, shouldn’t this have alerted the Feds that this sting had gotten out of control and why didn’t they stop it? That is if this was just a simple sting operation to track illegal gun sales.

The Times’ reporting says:

According to ATF emails and a federal court affidavit, El Paso police officers tracking alleged drug smuggling from Mexico followed a dark blue Volkswagen Jetta as it backed into a garage at a residence on Jan. 13, 2010. The driver was identified as Alberto Sandoval. Police later searched the vehicle and found the weapons and other devices.

Are we sure it was all this simple? Why should we even believe this report for what it is? Our government is corrupt. Nothing they have told us so far is true. None of us has reason to believe or trust any of them. Emails said this and emails said that, but are those emails all they might be perceived to be. Consider this as well:

According to an email from ATF Special Agent Oscar B. Flores in El Paso, Sandoval told authorities that he was paid $1,000 “to store the firearms at his residence until they could be transported to the Republic of Mexico” by an unknown third party.

Was this a planned operation? Why is nobody questioning who allegedly paid him $1,000 to store the weapons? Who was the alleged “third party”? Remember the report says that El Paso police found these weapons during “routine” drug smuggling tracking. So, what happened to these confiscated weapons after the fact?

But more importantly, the Feds did not stop the operation. Why? Because it was going as planned for them. Why should we not assume such? We assume they should have stopped the sting operation because we were told that is what it was supposed to be. It was not stopped so we are either looking at total incompetence by the Feds, which is totally possible, or this sting was something else.

Some have speculated that beyond the supposed sting operation to track illegal trafficking of guns, there was a planned effort to frame the citizens of the United States because of our perceived “lax” gun buying, selling and ownership laws. This, of course is believable for many reasons. We know Obama is very much anti gun and has indicated that he wishes for a signed treaty with the United Nations in which control over our guns would become the authority of the U.N.

My instincts are telling me this goes beyond that. It goes at least to the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA). They are the ones behind this and that’s why we have such a prolonged and controlled release of any information, whether it’s real or fabricated. Who will be the fall guy(s). For sure it will probably be one or two top level Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (BATFE) agents, if at all, but no higher.

The media is mostly following their orders to not report about Fast and Furious and some members of Congress are putting up a false front of exerting effort to get to the bottom of this. I have asked a couple times now, where is the outrage, the investigations, charges, arrests, impeachment?

Perhaps Obama and his minions could have collected or fabricated some data from Fast and Furious to use against the American people to further strip them of their Second Amendment rights but this stinks of CIA. Their mission is probably very similar to what it has been in the Middle East and North Africa – to do what is necessary to create chaos and instability.

Yes, the American people should be outraged by all of this but very few know anything about it because of clamp downs on the media. Those of us interested in digging some will be permitted to see only what we are allowed to see. Any Congressional investigations will be limited, only enough to pin something inappropriate on some unsuspecting scape goat. I’m sure the plan was all in place prior to Operation Fast and Furious.

Some have been adamant about calling for a formal investigation. Good luck with that and I hope you don’t really expect to learn the truth.

These are my conclusions to this point. What are your?
