Moving Planes In and Out of Alaska Lakes
Posted by

I suppose this could be considered a Black Bear Blog “Whatzit” or maybe a wherezit. I’ve not seen anything like this before and I’m sure some of my readers haven’t either. Where’s the back half of the truck?

This contraption is used, I am told, to move sea planes in and out of a Lake in Alaska. I am assuming this truck has front wheel drive.

Didn’t have very many answers on this latest “whatzit” but the ones we did were pretty darn close. First picture posted here is the original “whatzit” picture and then followed by a picture to show from what the first photo came from.

I believe the specie of tree here is a yellow birch.

I took this picture yesterday while traveling. I thought you could have fun with it. What the heck is it and why was what I asked.

This can be seen from the parking lot at the Charlton, Mass. travel plaza on the Mass. Turnpike.

This weather vane sits atop the cupola of a building found in downtown Berlin, New Hampshire. Do you know what profession the vane is depicting?
