Sunday after hammering my first Missouri turkey of the season I took an indirect way home from Springfield so I could stop and try shooting some of those fish I’d spotted last Friday. The Wife was nice enough to shoot some pictures (until we saw one of those brown water snakes).
You can see that they were in a relatively narrow channel off of the river. The water was about waist deep but murky, plus it was a cloudy day which made spotting the fish a challenge. For the most part they were seeing me before I saw them. That made the shooting fast and furious but a completely different challenge from the one on Tuesday in the flood.
The biggest buffalo probably weighed 15-17 pounds each. Not as big as the fish we killed Tuesday but plenty of fun.
Tomorrow my last hearing is over at 3:00. Hopefully if it’s not raining I can get out of the office in time to do some more shooting. Stay tuned for the results…
