One of the coolest things that can happen to me as a blogger is when I post an “internet photo”, usually from a forwarded e-mail, and the real owner tracks me down and gives me the info. You may recall that I posted some big lion photos awhile back – you can see the original post here: Huge Canadian Lion.

Well, out of the blue I was contacted yesterday by Kevin Daase in Alberta,Canada. He said “Hey those pics are me, what do you want to know?” So, I asked him for the “Rest of the story” (a la Paul Harvey).

According to Kevin ” I got the cat Dec 7, 2010 in northern Alberta with my bow. I had a buddy that owns Battle Cry Big Game Hounds that ran his dogs on the track for me. This is my second cat but first with bow. So I told Kelly from Battle Cry I only want one if he finds a great track because I would like it to be bigger than last year’s. The cat weighs about 190lbs and is 8ft 6in long approx. The hunt was not an overly long hunt but there was a lot of walking and in some tough terrain. We ended up about 2km from the truck but had to go about 8km (approx 5 miles ~DesertRat) to get there after following dogs.”

Kevin was kind enough to send some more photos, shown below. Kevin runs the Kodiak Lake Hunting and Fishing Store.
