Just finished up my second of three consecutive deer hunts with no luck.
We were hunting with Straight Arrow Outfitters and he put us on plenty of deer. We just didn’t see a mature deer in filming light.
The second afternoon we did see a very mature deer, but he had already shed his antlers. Looked like he could have been a bruiser.
Yesterday afternoon we had a mature 8 pointer come out after filming light. If we had been hunting without a camera we could have harvested him because he came out during legal shooting hours.
I’m headed home as I type for New Year’s Eve with the wife and kids and then I leave again on the 2nd for once last crack at an Iowa bruiser.
