Visitors, who stop into the HAVA booth, will learn about the organization’s history and how it was formed by companies in the shooting and outdoor industry with the purpose of raising awareness and further assisting disabled veterans with their healing process through hunts, shooting sports and other outdoor sports activities. The founding companies three years ago were Crimson Trace, Hornady, Leupold, Smith & Wesson, Surefire and Yamaha. Since that time, other companies that have joined the cause including Remington, DPMS, Bushmaster, Springfield Armory, Para Ordinance, LaserMax, Corbon Ammunition, Aimpoint, XS Sight Systems, Benchmade, Bulldog Barrels, Cybergun Airsoft and Taylor Cutlery.
The HAVA booth will be located in the main lobby at booth # 20179. Interested parties can learn more about HAVA while at the booth as well as pledge financial or other forms of support. During the four days of the show, HAVA will accept donations at which time new supporters will receive a commemorative HAVA knife and be entered into a raffle for tactical rifles from DPMS, Bushmaster and Smith & Wesson. Each rifle with be equipped with a Leupold Tactical Optic.
“After working for three years and serving many disabled veterans, HAVA is pleased to actively participate in the 2009 SHOT Show in order to communicate its mission and accept support,” said Tom Taylor, HAVA Chairman. “It has been overwhelming to see how this industry inherently wants to support our American Hero’s returning from Iraq, Afghanistan and other areas where they have been in harms way. On behalf of HAVA, I would like to extend a personal invitation to all of those attending the SHOT Show to come by the booth and see how you can get involved.”
