As a long-time member, administrator, ProStaffer, etc. of Jesse’s Hunting and Outdoors, I’ve spent some time with the boss and other staffers discussing what the future of web-delivered outdoors media was gonna look like.  Well, at risk of advertising a potential competitor, I think I’ve seen the answer.

MyOutdoorTV.com is a newcomer on the block, but they’ve come in with a serious package!

First of all, they offer a full spectrum of hunting and fishing video and television programming.  Talk about on-demand!  They’ve managed to bring aboard a pile of the heavy-hitters from outdoors television, as well as offering a home for the smaller programs.  As a viewer, all you need is a fast connection and a little time to watch.

But that’s not the coolest thing about the site.  Today I received a press release announcing the launch of the Showroom.  It’s basically a video catalog of outdoors-related products.  Sure, I love Cabelas and will probably continue to do a lot of my shopping there… but the Showroom goes a step further.  Not only can you view products and descriptions, you can actually watch videos of the products in use.  That, to me anyway, is a pretty innovative use of bandwidth!
