Hiya Gene,

Where in the northwest are you looking? There are some hogs in Oregon, but I think they're still pretty scarce. Also heard about some released on some Reservation land in BC, but I know very little about them.

CA is the closest significant, huntable population in the Pacific Northwest. You can start getting into them down around Mendocino county and west to Tehama county, although the prime hunting is down below the San Francisco Bay.

Thanks, folks!

Scouting this morning turned up some great birds. I have a little video I'll share when I get back to my editing software.

This evening's hog hunt was slow, but we're just getting these guys warmed up. Stay tuned, as that one should be good.

As to my turkey hunter... well, we'll be hitting the spot I scouted this morning first thing, and if all goes well...

And, if it doesn't... we have backup plans.

And Michael... see today's blog post for the answer to your age-old question. Short answer is... Yes.

And not much native american in my blood, although there's supposed to be some Cherokee and Tuscarora (weren't they lifetime enemies?), but who knows? I do know there's plenty of Scots and Irish in there, and that's a bunch of consumate tale-spinners if there ever were such a thing.

Age old question for you Phillip!
Which do you think is the best all around call fer them ol' Tom's !
Slate, Diaphram, Blade of Grass between thumbs and lips or a combination of all three?

I also will be anticipating a good story from you next week, Are you sure you are not full blooded Native American? They have always been very good storytellers you know.
