Thanks for all the good wishes! I did have a great time, and as I sort of suspected, came home pig-less. Tough hunting on that particular ranch right now, with the ground so dry and hard it's impossible to see tracks (even cattle barely scuffed the ground). Didn't realize the ranch didn't plant barley this year, so all the food was on neighboring properties.

Oh well... sure was awesome, especially the Thursday night coyote serenade. They lit up the whole valley, including two or three that came right into the camp area to sing the chorus for me. Very cool music.

Sounds like a great time Phillip. All of us need a little selfish time every now and then. Enjoy your time in solitude and hopefully you have a pic of a big pig when you return.

"But regardless of what (or if) I kill, I can guarantee it'll be a successful trip."

My thoughts exactly. Glad you have the chance to go out by yourself and enjoy the great outdoors and everything else we love about hunting. There is something about going out by ourselves that puts us in touch with nature and our inner most thoughts and feelings - I enjoy it. I love companionship, too, but there is another aspect when we're by ourselves that is truly enjoyable, as well.
