I have never had any inclination to hunt any bear other than those who pillage the avocado groves in Ventura County. (Remember we are what we eat). Something about a bear makes me think that shooting them is bad luck, like crows. They're too much like people, IMHO. Self-defense? No problemo. But hunting? Not so much. I’da done the same thing.
