They did see one 6x6 with some cows, but that was on the day before the season opened while they were scouting! However they said they had a great time anyway. And that is what it is all about. I can guarantee that the first time you’re standing there in the Rocky Mountain sunrise, and that herd bull sounds off a hundred yards away or less… you’ll never think of anything else.

I love hog hunting, I truly do. But I’d dump a month of hog hunting and six weeks of blacktail hunts to spend three days in pursuit of rutting elk.
