Good and sage advise Phillip!
The one thing which I might add here is: The natural landscape tends to be Vertical, Trees, bushes etc. etc.
When a horizontal image captures your eye, most likely it is a four footed critter standing stock still and looking straight at you!

This is some great advice not only for hogs but also for deer. I've walked past countless deer by moving to fast and many times the get up and run after I walk by.

Phillip, I find I tend to glass more later in the day and in the later days of a hunt. Not because I'm being more stealthy, but I'm more tired and the excitement has worn off. That second mornig takes me a while to get out of my tracks and rather than hump it to some distant spot i'd just as soon sit on a rock down the ridge and spot. Amazing how much more critters I see once I get a little tired and sore!

I used to walk and walk and walk and walk....

But now I find a high spot and glass. It's much better.
