JR, the brake really makes a huge difference in felt recoil, and as far as I'm concerned, it was worth it. However, be aware that the brake will NOT make you many friends at the shooting range. It will make the rifle very, very loud. With the .325 in particular, I try to wear hearing protection even when hunting (although I'd forgotten them the morning I shot this video).

Got word from the shop, by the way. New transfer case is on the way. Seems like every time I make my mark, someone always paints the wall.

Thanks for sharing, Phillip. Looks like Petunia was upset you didn't get more footage of her. Gotta love the theme song. Even though no hog was harvested, it's good to hear about the weather and different things that can and will happen during a hog hunt. Keep 'em coming!

Thanks for the reply, you pretty much hit on my problem. Do I want to do it, and if I do, can I find somebody qualified. I figured it was the BOSS when you said it was a browning.

Hey Michael, she should be ready to rock and roll for Tejon. New transfer case is on the way.

JR, the Brake on my .325 is factory-installed from Browning (the B.O.S.S.). It's a pretty impressive piece of engineering.

I had a KDF brake installed on my 30-06 (a neck problem has made it tough for me to stand a lot of recoil). I had my KDF installed by the good folks at the KDF home office in San Antonio, but they have a certified installer out near Lodi or somewhere. Check their website, www.kdfguns.com

The VAIS (www.muzzlebrakes.com/)is a good brake too, and most gunsmiths can put one of those on for you. Unfortunately, qualified gunsmiths are hard to find in the Bay Area these days.

Sorry to hear about Petunia. You noted you have a brake on your .325, was that stock or custom? If custom was it done by someone here in the Bay Area?

That's O.K. Phillip!
A good warm up for Tejon next month and at least Petunia looks good with her new hood ornament!

Now it is off to finish the honeydo's for me!
