Hey Mike,

There are some folks who refuse to patronize Fuddrucker's because they have a policy banning the legal possession of guns in their establishment (e.g. concealed carry). As I mentioned, personally I don't have any problem with any business owner making rules about their place of business, but I also agree that customers have every right to respond by refusing to patronize that business.

I know this is old, but...

Where did the handgun issue come up? I seem to have missed it. Why it came up on a discussion about hamburgers has me just a bit confused.

Thanks for sharing, Jenny, and don't worry about the typos. This isn't an english class.

Kudos to you for taking responsibility for your own safety and health, and doing something proactive. I absolutely support your right and your decision to do so.

And back to the original topic... I finally stopped in and had one of the wild game burgers the other day. I think it was the venison burger. It was pretty good, but so heavily blended with domestic animal fat that it had little resemblance to wild game. I imagine that's a selling point for some folks, but for anyone who enjoys wild game meat, it can be a bit of a let down.

I am thinking of trying one of these when we go in today. that being said, in response to Phillip...
I am a white,110 lb, 26 y.o female living in Columbus, GA. I who was almost stabbed outside of wal-mart. I went and applied for my concealed weapons permit the next day. After I recieved it I rewarded myself with a new Kimber .45 CDP,I have several others for home security and just my own collection at home. I carry mine everywhere I go and I get a lot of nasty looks, even here in AL. It is concealed but on occasion you may be able to see it for a second. I don't know why people get so riled up, I have it for personal protection and I am personally sick of hearing people say that I am "contributing to crime" by carrying. I was actually stopped by a woman and her husband saying that I am no better than the thugs that carry illegally. I say screw them, they can say what they want. I feel better knowing that I know how to use it and that I am not an easy target. It isn't in my purse, I have an ankle holster and a lower back holster. I pity the asshole who tries to rob me or worse.

I really like the Wild Boar Burger. I'm not much on eating pork, so this is saying a lot. Not very "wild" tasting, but that's ok. It's still good.

I just tried the wild boar burger at lunch and it was AMAZING. The boars come from a "farm" outside Montreal. The burger is 50% beef, 50% boar, and the addition of the boar gives it a rich juiciness - kind of like adding sausage to a burger. It's 1/2 lb, btw. Had mine with a slice of monterey jack. If you think the addition of a little hog makes anything taste better (and why else would you be reading this?), definitely try it.

Answer me this (even though it's utterly irrelevant to this conversation).

Why does the open carry of a handgun disturb folks like you so badly? I mean, seriously, put aside the silly tendency to lash back at someone who's doing something out of the ordinary... do you honestly feel threatened when you see someone carrying openly? How do you feel not knowing how many people in that restaurant are carrying concealed (illegally or not)? Or are you comfortable in the fantasy that no one on the street is carrying? If you can't see it, it's not there?

Personally, I have no desire or intent to carry either way except when I'm hunting. But I don't understand why seeing folks wearing a handgun on their hip gets people so worked up as to resort to ignorant name-calling. It just seems pointless and kinda dumb.

As for Dave's post above...I don't want to eat my Elk burger next to someone packing heat. Kudos to Fuddruckers for not allowing heat packing right wing red necks to strut their sense of freedom with a 9 millimeter. Get real.

Had the Elk burger last night at Fuddruckers in Roxbury NJ.

Damn good...it doesn't have a chance against a good Elk Ribeye steak but for a fast food joint, damn solid. Ordered in medium rare and they cooked it perfect. Rich tasting, beats the snot out of eating ole bessie the cow for the 1,000,000th time.
