This weekend as everyone knows is Father’s Day.  If you don’t know, then I just reminded you to get out and buy those cards!

I don’t always tell my father thanks for all he has done for me throughout my life.  I don’t always spend time with him like I should.  I don’t always agree with him either, now that I have grown older.  I really never did when I was younger either, but for different reasons back then.

I do cherish those memories of my youth about us spending time in the woods together.  It was my dad who lit the passion within me for the desire to chase animals through the woods of Michigan.  It was my father who took me on those trips to the great up north.  It was my father who was with me when I first shot a gun or drew a bow.  It was my father who was with me on a deer hunting trip when I took my first deer at the age of 17.  It was my father who was with me when I took my first turkey.  And it was my father who was with me when I took my first bear in 2000.  I have had a life filled with firsts with my father and I hope many more to come.  Sadly I know there will be a day when I look back at all of the lasts in my life that I spent with him.  There will be a last deer hunt, turkey hunt, bear hunt, etc…..   Life only lasts for but a moment, take the time to tell your father that you love him, thank you, and happy Father’s Day.  Who knows it may be the last chance you get.  We are never promised tomorrow.

Happy Father’s Day DAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  I love you!!!!!!!!!!
